Speedway Season Wraps With Saturday Showdown
The 2024 Magic Valley Speedway season comes to a close this Saturday, September 28, with Championship Night on the third-mile high banked oval. The Speed Tour Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA find their season champ, while the Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Project Filter Mini Modifieds, Budweiser Bombers, and Magic Valley Speedway Hornets settle their title matches with one last run at the night’s Snake River Legends trophies.
Donovan Barr leads the Speed Tour Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA into Championship Night. Barr holds a somewhat comfortable 68 point lead over Zach Webster as the pair roll onto the high banks for the final time this season.
Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodel point leader Shawn Lester takes a victory lap Saturday. With his closest competition a full 279 points behind him, Lester needs only to fire his engine for the final feature to secure the division title.
The McDonald’s Street Stocks chase Ronn McClimans into Championship Night. McClimans sealed his division championship with a victory in the McDonald’s Street Stocks’ last meeting on September 7. But the battle for third place rages still between Zaine Newberry, Jamie Hyde, and Andrew Palmer. Newberry leads Hyde by just two markers, and Palmer by just fourteen as they take their final turn around the third mile.
Amanda Burlingame completes her dominant Project Filter Mini Modified season with one final feature Saturday.
Brandon Adams leads the Budweiser Bombers into Championship Night with an advantage of 154 points over Tyla Adams.
Magic Valley Speedway Hornet racer Tiffany Moen has one last shot to catch point leader Justin Ford. Ford leads Moen by forty points entering Saturday night, an advantage that could evaporate with one misstep.
General admission to Championship Night is just $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m. Log on to www.magicvalleyspeedway.com to purchase your advance tickets now.
