Magic Valley Speedway
Monroe Tops in Legendary Feature
The Magic Valley Speedway grandstands and pit area were both packed Saturday, June 7, as Grace Assisted Living and BOGO Hot Dog Night took over the high banked third-mile asphalt oval. The Speed Tour Modifieds, Snake River Legends, Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Speedway Bandoleros, and Fast Lane Automotive Hornets went door-to-door and wheel-to-wheel in pursuit of the night’s Western Mountain Inc trophies.
The Snake River Legends brought 24 machines to bear on a hard-fought 35-lap feature. Once the dust settled Tyler Monroe crossed the finish line first in his Torch Towing, Idaho Wrecker Sales machine ahead of Andrew Tuttle and Johnethan Davis. Brok Kidd and Roxali Kamper rounded out the top-5 finishers.
A strong field of seven Speed Tour Modifieds took the green flag for their forty lap feature. Donovan Barr continued his streak of dominance as he drove his IBEW Local 291, Allied DCS modified to the win, followed by Rosalee Weller, Dennis Wurtz, Tyler Phernetton, and Willie Dalton. To celebrate, Barr and announcer Patrick Bauman shotgunned cans of Dr. Pepper in the winner’s circle.
Scott Gilligan shocked the Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodel field as he raced to the Grace Assisted Living and BOGO Hot Dog Night victory. Shawn Lester wrestled his Jackson Spuds, BJ’s Bar and Tavern racer into the runner up spot ahead of Doyal Moen, Adam Crow, and Kylie Ith.
McDonald’s Street Stock racer Zaine Newberry won for the first time this season on Saturday. Mitch Pehrson brought his Donate Life, Commercial Tire machine home second ahead of Lee Hackney, Jeff Peck, and Jess Freeman.
Fourteen Fast Lane Automotive Hornets took to the high banks for a 25-lap feature. Dusty Sterner scored his second feature win of the season at the controls of his Longhorn Fencing and Supply racer. Alex Fitterman finished second ahead of Zachery Rydalch, Sam Trump, and Kaethyn Gilligan.
Jhett Phipps continued his Speedway Bandolero conquest as at the controls of his Western Mountain Inc the youngster scored his third division victory. Mason Martin finished second, Tayton Monroe third, Cayden Barker fourth and Kyro Phipps fifth.
