Carnage King at Quale's Electronics Eve of Destruction II

A full night of chaos and carnage blew into Magic Valley Speedway on Saturday, August 17, as Eve of Destruction II presented by Quale's Electronics took over the third mile asphalt oval.  The Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald's Street Stocks, Pepsi Sprintcars, Magic Valley Speedway Hornets, Budweiser Bombers, Pepsi Mini Stocks, and Apex Idaho drifters joined forces to provide the racing thrills while the rest of the night was devoted to all forms of crashing and smashing.
Shawn Lester outdueled fellow Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodel competitor Mike Handman to park his Jackson's Spuds, Solar Homes machine in the winner's circle.
Mitch Pehrson roared to the early lead in Saturday's McDonald's Street Stock feature, but soon came under fire from Jamie Hyde and Ronn McClimans.  Now leader Hyde made his Guppies Hot Rod Grille car wide, but a caution flag allowed McClimans the track position he needed to move his Advantage Archery, Kidd Performance racer to the top spot.
Once out front McClimans drove away from Hyde and claimed the victory.  Pehrson brought his machine home third, with Zaine Newberry and Jeff Peck fourth and fifth, respectively.
Thirteen Magic Valley Speedway Hornets took the green flag for their 25 lap feature.  The pack was four wide before contact was made in turn one.  When the smoke cleared Peyton Hardenbrook's J&L Machining Works, Sage Dental car lay in a heap minus the left front wheel.
The next start was more successful and saw Doyle Moen lead Everett Meeks and Zach Rydalch across the line.  Rydalch steamed to the point on lap two, but had a mirror full of Titus Clancy.
After a handful of laps Clancy took the top spot for himself while Rydalch fell into the clutches of Dale Bolinger.
Bolinger picked Rydalch off on lapped traffic and set his sights on Clancy.  Bolinger gained on Clancy, but ran out of laps to catch the leader and was forced to settle for second behind Clancy's Radiator Xperts, Pipe Reline Solutions racer.
Kate Jackson dominated the Pepsi Sprintcar feature in her Pisca Trucking, WS Trucking sprinter to take home the Eve of Destruction II presented by Quale's Electronics night win.
Jordan Carpenter got out of the blocks fast and took control of the Pepsi Mini Stock feature early and never relinquished the top spot.
Brandon Adams teamed up with Cody Caramel to push the competition out of the picture before he hooked the infield shortcut and sped to the feature victory.
Ryan Day hustled his machine to the Apex Idaho Drift Competition victory.  With his win Day also clinched the overall Apex Idaho Speedway Drift Series title.
Jeff Atamian turned his jet dragster The Beast on a hornet and half melted, half shredded the machine over three thrilling minutes.
The World Famous Boat Races of Destruction saw John Deere Green wreak enough havoc to secure the crowd vote over Mad Max and win the event.
The Gauntlet ground to a halt after being swarmed by Hornets on lap four of eight.
Peyton Hardenbrook didn't leave Quale's Electronics Eve of Destruction II empty handed, as he scored the Auto Bowling victory.
Crash Dangerfield smashed through the Steel Curtain, formerly known as the Sl8 Grey Budweiser Bomber.
The Magic Valley Speedway season continues this Saturday, August 24, with the Western Mountain Inc. Bike and Big Wheel Races for Kids.  The Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald's Street Stocks, NASCAR Trucks, Project Filter Mini Modifieds, Budweiser Bombers, and Quale's Electronics Stingers gather on the high banks for a full night of racing action, plus, kids can take their bikes on a flying lap around the infield oval and we break out the big wheels for even more short track fun.  General admission to Saturday's Western Mountain Inc. Bike and Big Wheel Races for Kids is just $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under.  Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m.  Log on to www.magicvalleyspeedway.com to purchase your advance tickets and skip the line at the gate.  We'll see you on the high banks this Saturday, August 24, for the Western Mountain Inc.
