Championshp Season Starts with a Bang at Fast Lane Automotive Night

Magic Valley Speedway hosted Fast Lane Automotive Night at the Races Saturday, September 13. The penultimate event on the speedway’s 2025 schedule featured an exhibition race for the NASCAR Modifieds, while the NASCAR Trucks, Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Southern Idaho Mini Stocks, and Fast Lane Automotive Hornets dueled for late season points.

The NASCAR Trucks beat and banged their way through a pair of physical features Saturday. The first feature saw Jeff Wade race his The Car Store of Twin Falls, D.L. Evans Bank truck to the win over Jesse James Lawson and Neil Boyle.

The second feature saw Boyle dominate the early stages before contact with Wade caused the San Diego, California racer to spin in turn two. This left the lead to Lawson on the restart while Boyle stormed three-wide through the pack to reach the runner up spot.

In a near replay of their first encounter Wade and Boyle again came together and spun in turn two with fewer than five laps to go. On the restart Lawson jumped back to the lead in his Antler’s Boutique, S Porters, Inc machine while Bentlee Hillock held off a hard charging Wade to take second place. Boyle battled back to finish fourth ahead of John Harris, Ron Lawser, and Tiffany Moen.

Ronn McClimans used his front row starting spot to take control of the McDonald’s Street Stock feature on lap one while Mitch Pehrson and his Donate Life, Commercial Tire entry made his way through the pack and settled into the runner up spot.

Pehrson wasn’t safe there as soon Zach Rydalch piloted his machine past Pehrson and took up residence in McClimans’ rearview mirror. At the race’s halfway point Rydalch pulled even with McClimans and the two battled door-to-door for the top spot.

A late caution flag slowed the field, and when the race resumed McClimans used every bit of horsepower in his Advantage Archery, Monterey Jack’s car to take the lead. As the laps wound down McClimans wheeled his unruly car hard to maintain the lead. With two laps left Rydalch lost power out of turn two, which allowed McClimans to race his way to victory. With this win McClimans cut his point deficit to two entering the division’s final race night.

Fifteen Fast Lane Automotive Hornets took the green flag for a 25 lap feature. Ron Clausen sliced his way to the lead early in the going and never looked back as he claimed his first Magic Valley Speedway victory. Tommy Harrod finished second ahead of Brayden Sweatfield, Alex Fitterman, and Tiffany Moen.

Shawn Lester wheeled his Jackson Spuds, BJ’s Bar and Tavern racer on another Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodel feature victory to his total for the season. Peyton Hardenbrook brought his machine home second with Gary Groves third.

Six NASCAR Modifieds made the trek to Magic Valley Speedway for an exhibition race. Chuck Youngblood jumped out to the early lead with Kyle Latham and Titus Clancy in tow. A bobble in turn two allowed Latham and his Conrad and Bischoff, Outlaw Excavation machine to take the lead and the win.

Ryan Lott outdueled Robbie Hyde to win the final Southern Idaho Mini Stock feature of the year. But it was Josh Lucero and his Trammel Construction, Scott’s Cageworks mount that claimed the 2025 division championship.

The 2025 Magic Valley Speedway season draws to a close Saturday, September 27, with the 2025 MVS Championship Finale event. The Speed Tour Modifieds, NASCAR Trucks, Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Budweiser Thunderdogs, and Fast Lane Automotive Hornets battle for division titles and the night’s Willow Real Estate Group trophies. General admission is just $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m. Grab your advance tickets at www.magicvalleyspeedway.com now before they’re gone! We’ll see you on the high banks Saturday, September 27, for the 2025 Magic Valley Speedway Championship Finale at Idaho’s fastest NASCAR Home Track, Magic Valley Speedway.
