Magic Valley Speedway
Speedway Season Kicks Off Saturday Night
Thunder returns to the Magic Valley this Saturday, May 2, as Magic Valley Speedway hosts the O'Reilly Auto Parts Season Opener powered by YMC Mechanical. The Speed Tour Modifieds, NASCAR Trucks, McDonald's Street Stocks, Pepsi Sprintcars, Fast Lane Automotive Hornets, and Budweiser Thunderdogs take to the high banks to kick off the 2026 season.
Donovan Barr leads the Speed Tour Modifieds to green for the first time in 2026. Barr cruised to the title last year, but he faces a strong contingent of competitors including Rosalee Weller, division rookie of the year Tyler Phernetton, and a whole host of others looking to unseat the defending champ.
The NASCAR Trucks take over as Magic Valley Speedway's premier NASCAR division for the first time in 2026. With big money on the line and a hungry group of hard-charging racers ready to race, you don't want to miss a single truckin' lap this year.
Ronn McClimans and Zaine Newberry battled for the McDonald's Street Stock title throughout the 2025 season and look to renew their rivalry as they roll into the O'Reilly Auto Parts Season Opener powered by YMC Mechanical. Newberry is poised to fight hard for every point as last year's title was determined by just fifteen markers.
Three racers sit all but deadlocked atop the Pepsi Sprintcar standings. Jamo Stephenson leads Riley Rogers by 3 points, who himself is just 3 points ahead of Daytona Wurtz. Which open-wheeler will emerge as the point leader after their Saturday night battle on the high banks?
A strong group of Fast Lane Automotive Hornets descend on Magic Valley Speedway for their first meeting of the year. Alex Fitterman raced his way to the top of the Hornet heap in 2025, but in a division where anything can happen even defending champions are subject to chaos.
The Enforcer leads the wild and wacky Budweiser Thunderdogs to green Saturday with one eye on the rearview mirror. Last year's standings runner up Knight Rider has upgraded his car and has his sights, along with the rest of the division's sights, set on this year's division championship.
General admission to Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Season Opener powered by YMC Mechanical is just $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military members, $9 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the year's first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m. Purchase your advance tickets at www.magicvalleyspeedway.com to skip the line at the gate. We'll see you on the high banks this Saturday, May 2, for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Season Opener powered by YMC Mechanical at Idaho's fastest NASCAR Home Track, Magic Valley Speedway.
